Thinking about going to Suzuki Institute over the summer? Want to know what to expect? Suzuki music camps are a unique special experience.
What makes Suzuki Institute unique?
Suzuki camp isn’t like your typical day camp. Like everything with the Suzuki philosophy, it is meant to be something you do with your child. You’ll get the opportunity to attend, observe, and watch your child grow over the week.
Is it too much for a young child?
The short answer is no! Suzuki teachers are well acquainted with what is appropriate for different ages. Many of the teachers at Suzuki institutes are some of the most experienced. Will it push and challenge your child? Absolutely! We are there to expand and grow as musicians!
Will they be playing music all day long?
No. The day is balanced out between playing and other classes. The older your child is, the more playing they will do. Institutes have a wide variety of classes such as music and movement, fiddle, orchestra, yoga, etc. Look at your institutes brochure and registration to get an idea of what will be happening at your institute.
I still have questions…
Ask your teacher. Most likely they have had other students attend the institute near you. If your teacher doesn’t know, contact the institute directly.
I hope this gives you a better idea of what to expect. I’d love to hear what institute you are considering for the summer!
Thanks for joining me on this Adventure in Suzuki Parenting and happy practicing!
